JuCan Castle – The Dream

The “JuCan Castle” is a future dream to purchase land and/or renovate a hotel/ building in Houston, Texas that will house families seeking treatment in the premiere Texas Medical Center.

The Cobb family relocated to Houston, Texas in 2012 for Julia’s sarcoma treatment, and later traveled to St. Jude in Memphis, TN. Temporary housing solutions were a challenge, but  the family was fortunate enough to stay at the Ronald McDonald (Houston), the Grizzly House (Memphis/St. Jude), various hotels and other temporary housing while seeking a cancer cure. We are grateful to many who support these wonderful organizations, without which, families would no place to call home.

Finding temporary and affordable housing is a tremendous challenge for families traveling to the #1 cancer center in the world (MD Anderson) & the Texas Medical Center. Many families are faced to make difficult choices to travel home, as oppose to staying, due to the expense and hardship of finding housing. This creates unneeded stress. Families fighting cancer should focus on taking care of their loved one and the cure, not the burden of where to stay or how much it will cost.

The “JuCan Castle” is more than a dream, but a welcomed solution for many of these hurting families. Our goal is to provide first class accommodations that help families heal, in an environment that is safe, easily accessible to the Texas Medical Center, and in a resort type setting. Many families will never have the good fortune of traveling to Disney and staying in a resort like the Contemporary or the Wilderness Lodge. JuCan dreams of bringing a little bit of that magic to families traveling to Houston, where finding a cure, is the happiest place on earth!

Please contact us if you would like more information or would like to support this vision. Together, WE CAN!!!
