Hope in Houston – Give

Hope in Houston – Give

Your generosity makes it possible this year to keep Julia’s legacy of giving and sharing “hope” with all of our JuCan #Houston friends in cancer treatment. Please consider a gift online at www.jucanfoundation.org/donate. We still have MANY requests and wishes to fulfill. We will be doing our best, right up until Christmas Day to share a little magic with as many families as we possibly can. #JuCan help us make it happen!

Take time also, to pray for all the families who are seeking a cure for their son/daughter this year. It was December 23, 2013 when we first received the results from a biopsy of Julia’s scapula at the MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital in Houston. We flew back to family in Florida on Christmas Eve and it was on this day we first shared the words “cancer” and “Ewing’s sarcoma” with Ju! We would return days later to begin chemotherapy. At six years of age, Julia never retreated, nor did she fear the word CANcer! She gave her best in trying to focus on others, rather than herself. We were (we are) inspired by her courage, love, faith in God, and the hope that everyone experienced when they came near her. She still sparkles.

In this, the 8th year of Julia’s Toy Drive and Adopt-a-Family, we are still sharing her beautiful legacy, and we’re still holding on to hope for our friends, that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE WITH GOD! Thanks for being a JuCan partner with us!

2019 JuCan Christmas T-shirt Design

The 2019 #JuliaCobb Toy Drive Shirt (Rudolph) is a tribute to all of our sponsors who help us tirelessly deliver toys to the MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital each year.  For the 8th year since Julia started her toy drive, children with cancer will have a magical Christmas.

This year’s t-shirt features custom artwork from the imagination of, 8 year old, CHRISTIAN. He and Julia were friends from the start while in treatment together at the MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital in 2012. Christian is living his best life as he continues to win against #Neuroblastoma.

The JuCan Foundation is proud to honor Christian and ALL of our #ChildhoodCancer Warriors this year with a limited edition t-shirt.

2019 JuCan Toy Drive Begins

The first toy box of the 2019 #JuliaCobb #JuCan Christmas was symbolically delivered to where Julia is laid to rest. It gives us great encouragement to know that something she started 8 years ago has grown into one of #houston‘s largest toy drives/adopt-a-family. Somewhere, there’s an angel with a twinkle in her eye, smiling down upon #htown.
Thanks for the inspiration Ju, we keep your legacy of helping other kids and families in cancer treatment encouraged by the magic & love of Christmas.

If you would like to adopt-a-family or be a collection center, please contact Jennifer Cobb at 713-413-7597 or email Jennifer.Cobb@JuCanFoundaiton.org.

JuCan – Alabama Chapter Gives Christmas to Family

JuCan – Alabama Chapter Gives Christmas to Family

JuCan – Alabama Chapter

Thank you, JuCan Foundation Alabama/Birmingham Chapter for showing ❤️ to the Eaton Family this Christmas! Angel Eaton battled #EwingsSarcoma bone cancer and passed away on September 18, 2016. This young lady was passionate about Jesus, her mama and her new baby sister, Autumn! She felt blessed to be well enough to welcome Autumn into this world and they got to bond and spend months together laughing and playing like 2 sisters should. They lived life in “fast forward” as Angel’s time was short and she couldn’t stay long.
Angel was eager to head off to college this past Fall and start her career path toward cosmetology and theatrical make up artistry. She never got to fulfill that dream due to a relapse in her health, but we prefer to envision Angel painting the heavenly sky with the largest, puffiest brushes and the most beautiful water colors!
The Cobb Family had followed Angel for a few years during her battle and we took a detour to meet up with she and her mom, Kim, when we were on our 4,000 mile #WalkAcrossAmerica for Pediatric Cancer Awareness in May 2015. Angel, her mom and Angel’s fellow cancer warrior friend, Kelsey Honeycutt ate dinner with Team JuCan and we celebrated cancer victories and great health over Japanese Hibachi steaks.
Boy what a year can bring….

As part of the JuCanFoundation.org mission, we not only help families during their battle with CANcer, but we also aid in the aftermath! This Christmas was a first for the Eaton family without Angel and nothing we can do would bring her back. But, we didn’t want Kim and her sweet baby Autumn to go without. As a tribute to Angel, the O’Donnell Family (Jeff, Stefanie, Tara (our Ju’s BFF), and Kayla) brought gifts and a large donation to be used toward the many outstanding expenses that Kim has as a single mom.

If you would like to help with donating toward a grave marker for Angel, please designate “Angel Eaton” with your gift to JuCanFoundation.org/donate. We hope to be able to help lay Angel to rest and make her memory as beautiful as she was. #JuCan #JuDid #AngelDid #KimCan #UCanMakeADifference #GodCan #AngelsAmongUs #JuCanAlabama
